Experience
I tutored Spanish while I was a high school student, but most of experience in teaching has been in public and charter public school classrooms, and also through a program for youth that I developed. I have been a bilingual teacher in elementary and middle school. I have also trained others on a number of Microsoft software applications, and worked as a technical editor/writer. I have been in positions where I had to design the curriculum and write the lesson plans. Because I majored in liberal arts and science, I have a good understanding of the expectations. I have judged a number of competitions for essays, short stories, and scholarships, and I enjoy mentoring young people in writing. I have authored books on money management and personal finance, and I currently write children's books. I understand that there are four learning styles, and I work with each individual student to determine what their style is and adapt the lessons accordingly. I try to make the learning fun and my students feel comfortable. When I am not teaching, I like to dance, go horseback riding, and create youth programs.
